According to Ms. Amelie Manon Humphreys, Vietnam is a strategic area of ​​the CMA CGM Group, with many development plans for maritime transport and seaports in the future, especially in Ho Chi Minh City. CMA CGM wishes to learn about the planning for the development of some seaports and the strategy for maritime transport development in Ho Chi Minh City.

Specifically, the group wants to learn about information about seaport development projects such as Thu Duc, Long Binh, Cai Mep - Thi Vai, Can Gio and the progress of planning and construction of seaports, site clearance, legal procedures, and reform of administrative procedures when investing in seaports in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the meeting, representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction provided information on the city's seaport development plan until 2030 and vision to 2050.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction said that after the merger, the city will adjust the general planning, in which the functions and tasks of the ports will be distributed into a unified port cluster, avoiding the risk of excess infrastructure supply and in line with the city's synchronous development planning.

In addition, the Department of Construction also consults and proposes solutions to support businesses participating in the maritime transport supply chain to serve the export and transit of goods.

It is expected that this year, Ho Chi Minh City will complete the master plan for seaport development and call for businesses to invest in developing the Can Gio and Cai Mep – Thi Vai international transit port projects.
