On May 7, at the Salone Dei Tessuti Exhibition Center (Milan, Italy ), Vietnam Airlines announced the launch of a direct flight connecting Hanoi and Milan. The event took place within the framework of the Vietnam - Europe Tourism Promotion Program, opening up opportunities to strongly promote tourism and economic cooperation between Vietnam and Italy.
According to the plan, the Hanoi - Milan route will be operated from July 1, 2025, using wide-body Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, with a frequency of 3 round trips per week and a total flight time of nearly 12 hours per leg.

The Vietnam - Europe Tourism Promotion Program and the announcement of the opening of the Hanoi - Milan direct flight route by Vietnam Airlines are opportunities to promote and boost Vietnamese tourism in the European market.
The launch of the new route will increase Vietnam Airlines ' total number of direct flights to Europe to nine, while expanding its international connection network, providing more convenient options for passengers on their journey to explore Europe.
The Vietnam - Europe Tourism Promotion Program in Milan is organized to promote exchanges, enhance cooperation in tourism and investment between the two countries, and promote the image of Vietnam as a destination to the European market.
Within the framework of the event, representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy, the Italian National Tourism Agency (ENIT) and representatives of the Lombardia regional government pledged to promote bilateral cooperation in the fields of tourism and economy.

With direct flights between Hanoi and Milan, cultural, tourism and economic exchange activities will have more momentum to develop in the future.
On the Vietnamese side, the National Tourism Administration, Hanoi Department of Tourism, and major airlines and travel agencies introduced many new tourism products and services, updated visa policies and market information to strengthen connections with international partners.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Alessandra Priante - President of the Italian National Tourism Agency (ENIT) commented: “We welcome the establishment of a direct flight between Hanoi and Milan - a strong driving force for bilateral tourism cooperation. Italy and Vietnam both possess distinctive cultures and unique tourism values. With the support of airlines, businesses and promotion agencies from both sides, we believe in a future of extensive, effective and sustainable cooperation in the tourism industry.”
Previously, at the Destination Italy event held in Hanoi, Mr. Dinh Van Tuan - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines emphasized: "The direct flight from Hanoi to Milan, expected to be launched from July, will shorten the geographical distance, creating favorable conditions for tourists to explore the beauty of both Italy and Vietnam. We are striving to realize the goal of welcoming 22-23 million international visitors in 2025, and Italy, with its great tourism potential and favorable visa exemption policy, is expected to be one of the important markets contributing to this success."
The opening of the new route not only brings more convenient travel options for passengers but also continues to affirm Vietnam Airlines' pioneering role and more than 30 years of taking off with the country: connecting Vietnam with the world , accompanying the country's deep integration process.

This tourism promotion event, together with the opening of the direct flight from Hanoi to Milan, contributes to strengthening the friendship and economic and cultural cooperation between Vietnam and Italy.
Previously, Vietnamese passengers wishing to travel to Italy often had to transfer flights through transit hubs such as Paris, Frankfurt or Doha, which lengthened their journey. Now, with the direct flight from Hanoi to Milan, tourists can easily access the "land of great heritages", explore ancient cities such as Rome, Florence, Venice or the world's top artistic wonders.
In the opposite direction, Italian tourists will also have the opportunity to experience famous destinations in Vietnam such as Hanoi, Ha Long, Hoi An, Hue, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City... thanks to direct flights that are faster and more convenient.
This tourism promotion event, along with the opening of the direct flight from Hanoi to Milan, not only expands the air transport network but also contributes to strengthening the friendship and economic and cultural cooperation between Vietnam and Italy.
Vietnam Airlines, with its continuous efforts over the past three decades, continues to affirm its role as a solid bridge, bringing the image of Vietnam far and wide and connecting Vietnamese values with the world.
