Posted on: 25/11/2025
This event not only demonstrates PVTrans’ efforts to complete its 2025 investment plan amid a volatile maritime transport market, but also reaffirms the Corporation’s leading position in the Vietnamese shipping industry with an increasingly strong and modern fleet.

PVTrans’ new vessel, PVT Nova, was built in Japan in 2011. It is an MR oil tanker with a deadweight of 47,980 DWT, featuring modern design and high technical quality that fully meets international maritime safety, environmental, and operational standards.
Right after delivery, PVT Nova was immediately placed into the Maersk Pool — one of the world’s leading pools for oil transportation — to operate on the international market. This is the 6th vessel PVTrans successfully received in 2025, increasing the Corporation’s existing fleet to 64 vessels with a total deadweight of over 1.9 million DWT.

The successful investment and acquisition of PVT Nova is a key piece in PVTrans’ sustainable growth strategy aimed at expanding fleet scale, enhancing asset quality, and aligning with green maritime standards. This serves as a core driver for PVTrans to continue optimizing business efficiency, sustaining strong financial foundations, and fulfilling commitments to increasing value for shareholders and partners.
Earlier, on November 12, at Tarragona Port, Spain, PVTrans took delivery of the crude oil tanker PVT Poseidon. PVT Poseidon (IMO: 9457593) is an Aframax crude oil tanker with a deadweight of 114,542 DWT, built in Japan and classed by ABS (USA) — one of the world’s most reputable classification societies. The vessel features modern design and excellent technical quality, fully compliant with international maritime safety, environmental, and operational standards.

The decision to invest in the Aframax segment aims to expand PVTrans’ crude oil tanker fleet and strengthen its presence on international shipping routes.
After delivery, PVT Poseidon was immediately deployed under a long-term time charter in the European market at favorable charter rates. Europe is a market with very high requirements for technical standards and safety; PVTrans’ decision to operate the vessel here reflects strong confidence in the quality of its assets and its management and operational capabilities. This operational strategy is expected to generate stable revenue and contribute positively to PVTrans’ overall business performance.
